Rarely Studied and Compared: Eastern Europe and South American Advertisements
My article, “Looking through outdoor advertising images for beauty in Argentina, Chile, Hungary, and Romania,” was published in the Journal of Promotion Management. Some of the findings support previous research, including that females are more likely than males to be portrayed as models and celebrities, suggesting women are to be looked at, and Eastern European women are depicted more in occupational roles and seldom as decorative or ambiguous compared to South America, perhaps a residual of the socialist structure during the Communist era and when women needed to be strong. Family was also shown more often in Chile and Romania, maybe as both can be considered Latin cultures. Review the article at this link http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/10496491.2017.1323257
